Here’s to an amazing 2022!

Here we are on the first day of 2022. It’s far from easy to comprehend just how swiftly yet another year has gone by – minute after minute, hour after hour (you just scored a point if you sang or instantly remembered where this last bit is from ;).

It seems like it was only yesterday when we first faced a new (and admittedly very difficult) way of navigating this world full of uncertainties, lockdowns and isolation. And while perhaps nothing major or particularly significant has happened in our lives lately, and while it might be hard to differentiate the last two years from one another, in my view it is every seemingly trivial thing that made moments count in 2020 and 2021.

To me, it was the ability to travel, albeit less often, and meet my family and friends again. While these moments might not have been grandiose in their nature, they were just what my soul needed after prolonged and excruciating times of isolation.

Leaving these couple of years behind though, there’s a common feeling among most of us being left with little thrill and excitement about 2022. Are the upcoming now 364 days going to be any different (and would different mean it’s for better or worse?) from the last year, or the one before? What can be done for it to feel better, even if slightly so? How can we, at an individual and communal level, ease the situation and make the best of it?

While I won’t focus on my own aspirations as they feel quite personal to me, I want to highlight a genuine wish I have felt regarding the world in its entirety. It’s just make-believe and it’s nothing but a silly desire, but one I will share here as I truly believe in the power of words, used wisely and directed rightly.

Here I won’t even try to get out of the clichΓ© zone when I say I wish for people to believe – but this time for real.

First and foremost: believing in themselves. Believing in the grand and magnificent inner power and capabilities they have; in the many inspiring, beautiful and shining talents and potential they have; in the genuine kindness, love and warmth they have to give and receive.

Secondly: believing in their dreams, goals and aspirations. Knowing deep inside and openly out that whatever they set their hearts and minds on – it is theirs for the taking. I cannot stress this one enough. Life is nothing but a mind game and one simple yet powerful rule is always guiding the way – we can be, do, have, achieve and attract anything we truly want and need in life. Nothing is too big or impossible. Everything can happen and should – if that’s what your heart genuinely and purely desires.

Third: believing in other people’s goodness. While anyone has probably been hurt or misled, it never ever means this is what people do all the time or they would to you. Let go of expectations of disappointment and failure, give your soul an uplift and focus on noticing the nice qualities people have or things they do (regardless of how tiny they might seem to be which I’m sure they will in certain cases). What will happen as a result is people will feel cherished more for these small parts of them and they will put the spotlight on these things more often now that they know it’s being noticed and appreciated.

Finally: believing in a good outcome. For the world. This planet is not doomed yet, our and other species still have the opportunity and the power to change our ways and bring a brighter future for current and future generations. Here I’m referring to all anxiety, anger and disappointment when it comes to tackling problems such as climate change, wars, economic crises, to name a few.

I dare you to believe in yourselves and other people, and in the good things in the world. I promise there’s plenty out there to explore, dream and work towards. Being cynical, skeptical and doubtful is so easy, it’s a piece of cake. Having the guts to believe in a superhero scenario for your own life and others’ intentions and behaviour – now this is the tricky path. Tricky but the only one worth being on in every moment in time.

Hopefully, these few words have awoken and pushed this light, charming and childishly-beautiful energy in you to make a start on a very motivated, inspired and authentic journey. A journey full of health, happiness, love, success, serenity, adventures, growth and anything else your heart desires.

To finish off, here I present you one song which holds ALL of the love and positivity I’d like to share with you and wish you have in your life. You can truly have it all, just dare to ask for it ❀

P.S.: If you’d like an extra portion of enthusiasm, the majority of the music made by Jason Mraz (whom I share a birthday with BTW, though with some years apart) is a great choice and will surely accompany you to a dreamy level of being πŸ™‚ enJOY!
